SEBASTIAAN WESTERWEEL, has made photography his profession since he was around twenty.

In addition to his work as a portrait photographer, Sebastiaan's free work consists of photographic mindscapes.

From his photo studio in the shadow of the wooded estate 'Kommerrust' in Naarden, he is inspired by natural elements in his environment. Impulsively he saves pieces of wood, stones, shells, etc. that inspire him and that he uses for compositions and collages. He calls these works 'Anatomy of Things'.

He lets his emotional feeling play the leading role in the creation of this work. Through rough lines and dark deep shadows comes a strange kind of energy that may seem obscure, but to himself it feels as extremely powerful and positive.

His compositions are also regularly 'blown up' by him to several square meters and printed, which results in an alienated but exciting image.
